Guy lines / support lines
Do you still buy your guy lines at the local DIY store? Generally speaking, you can only get lines made of polypropylene or nylon. These materials stretch quite markedly under load - up to 25%! - and aren't always weatherproof. I can supply stretch-free and weatherproof (UV-proof) lines made from polyester and Dyneema ® for favourable prices. All ropes and lines are "Made in Germany".

Dyneema's ® properties:
Polyethylene, solid PE (brand names: Dyneema, Spectra) is a new ultra-stable Polyethylene fibre with a very low specific weight, yet five times as strong as a similar weight-for-weight line made of polyamid or polyester. Because of this, Dyneema ® is buoyant and has the least stretch at rupture of all synthetic yarns. It also posesses the best resistance to chemical influences of all these yarns. Lines made of Dynema ® will stretch only 1.5-3% under tension.

I can supply the following lines from stock. The tensile strength in kg is indicated for each type of line. All prices are in euro per metre.

Available Polyester lines and ropes (core plus woven cover)
The following lines and ropes are made of a white pre-stretched polyester core and a 16-strand woven cover of black dyed Polyester. These lines stretch about 5% at maximum and approach the qualities of Dyneema ® lines but at a much more favourable price.

Tip: Singe the end of the lines with a cigarette lighter to prevent them unravelling and stop the cover sliding back over the core.

Are you planning a special project but haven't yet found anything to meet your requirements on this site? I may well be able to help you further, as I obtain my stock from well-known manufacturers who have an astonishing selection of products available. For example, I can supply strong, stretch-free lines and ropes made of Kevlar and Dyneema, &c is all diameters for reasonable prices. I would be pleased to be able to advise you on this. The minimum order in such cases is 100 euro.
