95cm telescopic antenna for scanners
and handheld radios

Modern handheld radios often have a wideband scanner included. Some of these also
cover the shortwave range. But these handhelds are supplied with a short "Rubber Ducky Antenna" from the manufacturer. These "rubber" antennas are designed for transmitting on 144/430 Mhz and have a very bad performance for receiving on frequences below 100 Mhz. So if you like , to receive broadcast on UKW WFM , 4m, 6m or even on shortwave, its good to have a second "larger" antenna on hand. This telescopic 95cm antenna will help to increase the receiving performance of your handheld or scanner.

Choke Balun

Choke balun (or 1:1 coax balun) after W2DU, consisting of 12 CST 9.5/5.1/15-3S4 plus 6 LFB095051-000 toroids on a 50cm Teflon coax cable. The toroids are weatherproofed with a high-quality shrink tubing. Two PL259 plugs are fitted as standard, and a double-female adapter (PL258) can also be supplied if required. The balun is suitable for outputs in excess of 1kW, depending on the application. It is also strongly recommended for use with asymmetric antennas to prevent RF currents from flowing on the outer shield of the coax and causing BCI/TVI. The choke balun is priced at 25 Euro.
