LADDERLINE SPREADERS AND INSULATORS

We are very glad, that we can offer the DL6SX Ladderline spreaders and insulators. These parts are developed, designed and manufactured in Bavaria/Germany. Without a doubt, these are the best ladderline spreaders I have seen in my 35 years of practice in amateur radio. You will find more information at www.hfparts.com. Unfortunatly this page is only in german language at the moment, but will find more pictures there. We recommend our DX-WIRE "F" and "FL" series as an ideal combination with these spreaders.
SPREADER 50 MM
Our very light, unconspicious and stable design for 40mm wire space, suitable for stranded wires 1,0 to 2,5mm dia. With circular center groove for guiding the ladderline around obstacles. Recommended distance between the spreaders = 50 cm. Very good for indoor use due to the low secondary radiation level.

LOCK - WASHER
The special washer for fixing our spreaders SP-150 and SP-200 in a 60 degree position for 6-wire-cage antennas.
The stop bar combination of both sides is fully adapted to the a/m spreaders and guarantees the necessary 60 degrees angle by screwing 3 spreaders together in star-form, in a very simple and precise way. This lock-washer ASP-16 is a condition for homebrewing well made cage-antennas! You need two ASP16 for one 6-wire-cage !

CONSTRUCTION KIT "05 DL6SX" (STARTER-SET)

The ladderline-construction-kit "05DL6SX" (B05-1) is composed of 20 spreaders SP-120 and 4 center- / end-insulators IS-120. It is prepared for a technically perfect and "easy-to-do" construction of ladderline-fed antennas, but can be used for other applications:

for instance:
1.) folded-dipoles
2.) 4-wires-feeder
3.) etc.

This construction kit is availabe for 21,50 Euro.
The perfect antenna strand for these high quality spreaders is our DX-WIRE Premium SOFT,
which is very similar to our regular DX-WIRE Premium. One difference is the that the
SOFT-Version is made with a soft drawn stainless steel core, which makes the strand more
flexible, but reduces breaking load to about 50kg. Another difference is that the insulation is
made from FEP, which electrical characteristics are similar than these of PTFE.
Data:
OD: 2,0mm, Insulation FEP 0,3mm, color grey
19 x 0,2 stainless steel wires (softdrawn) + 18 x 0,2mm Copper silverplated
Temperature range - 200 until +205 deg. Celsius, longtime UV- and waterresistant
breaking load: 500 N (50kg, 110 lbs)

Technical information all around the subject LADDERLINE

LADDERLINE

is the name of a HIGHLY EFFICIENT FEEDER for shortwave transmitting and receiving aerials. It is characterized not only by a minimum of RF-loss, but also by the possibility of reaching SWR values of 1:1.0 with ONLY ONE AERIAL, ON ALL BANDS!

The LADDERLINE, is a feeder of 2 wires guided at a certain distance in parallel. A condition for minimal loss is a wire distance of no fewer than 40mms with AIR INSULATION, the required spreaders and insulators must be specified near to the air insulation quality to reach by construction, surface and careful selection of basic materials and have to resist against influences of sun, wind and weather, and mechanical stress.

Homebrewing of such aerials up to now is accompanied by a lot of inconveniences. Home construction of spreaders resulted often in electrical and mechanical faults.

Our extended program of components is the best way to make homebrewing of parallel wire systems extremely simple! It has been designed in close cooperation with DL6SX and helps the NEWCOMER to ERECT LADDERLINE-FED ANTENNAS as quickly.

We are producing four sizes of spreaders for 40mms to 190mms wire spacing, which are following the same basic principle, as shown by this drawing!

At both ends, CARRYING FORKS are holding the wires in parallel position, assisted by GUIDER GROOVES. Stop bars are preventing the wires to slip out of the forks, even under stormy weather conditions! The construction of the carrying forks minimizes the risk of wire fractures!
1. In the center of our spreaders a hole of 4,2mms or a circular groove (SP-50!) helps to guide the ladderline by a thin rope around abstacies, forming a soft curve!

The hole together with the stop-bars is previewed to screw 2 spreaders together - 90deg for 4-wire-systems - or 3 spreaders for 6-wire-systems with the adapter ASP-16, which is necessary for the 60deg-positioning in this case.

Our components are manufactured exclusively with "Bayer"-compound materials, protected against extreme climatic and mechanical strain! The temperature range is -50deg to +90deg C !! The normal colour is black for being "invisible".
